The Veronese fair is also the chance to officially introduce our latest innovations: new products, new vintages, new designs of existing products, which after extensive internal analysis, will finally hit the worldwide market. The many innovations we’ll be presenting at Vinitaly 2016 essentially cross our entire range and are part of a larger project to promote the classic appellations of the territory and strengthen the company brands. The company’s mission is to ensure growth and renewal at every level, but always with respect for our origins and traditions».
The top-tier brands, conceived exclusively for high-end consumers, include some new arrivals, like the traditional method Settecento33 Lessini Durello. As with the Cuvée Close, presented at Vinitaly 2015, this sparkling wine is made entirely from Durella grapes, one of the oldest in the Verona area. The new Settecento33 is distinguished for its elegant nose of white-fleshed fruit and delicate aromas of melissa and sage, enhanced by inviting citrus notes of grapefruit, lime, citron and bergamot. A fresh, smooth and creamy sip leads to a lengthy and very enjoyable finale. The label design is just like that of the Charmat method wine – an intentional cross between a classic and modern feel. The refined round decorative emblem, a symbol of perfection and completion, has a pattern that reflects the dynamism of the bubbles in the wine. The red capsule gives the bottle a final touch of grand elegance.
Rocca Sveva, another of the historic Veronese wine producer’s brands, will be enriched by three new wines made for the most demanding wine lovers. Nottefonda, Chiaropuro and Notarosa. These three brand new products are contemporary and captivating and together are a refined expression of the terroir and symbol of the pleasantness of a wine meant to be shared in moments of conviviality and wellbeing.
Nottefonda has an intense and profound ruby red colour, which gives it its name. It is a skilfully blended wine made from locally cultivated hillside grapes, which have been slightly dried. Aromas of small black berries, wild roses, spices and rhubarb delight the nose. A full-bodied sip leads the way to a pleasant blueberry and black currant finish.
Chiaropuro is a blend of aromatic white grapes from the area, which have also been slightly dried. The nose boasts the magic of ripe yellow-fleshed fruit with delectable notes of pineapple and apricot. The palate is full and balanced with a wonderful richness of flavour. Light notes of lime blossoms and sage are lovely on the finish.
Notarosa is a rosé made from grapes cultivated on the hills of eastern Verona. The nose offers fresh, enchanting aromas of pomegranate, raspberry, red currant and strawberry. It is lively, fresh and satisfyingly zesty on the palate.
Rocca Sveva’s 2016 new offerings are rounded out by the redesign of the look for the Soave Classico Superiore Castelcerino and Recioto di Soave Classico Rocca Sveva.
Even the look of the line Poesie has been considerably revamped. The new image gives the brand communicative strength and an elegance that make it immediately recognizable. A burgundy nib stands out against the light minimalist background of the label, referencing the name and reflecting the poetry meant as an artistic expression. Even the calligraphic font indicating the type of wine reflects this symbolism. A Rhine bottle with an embossed coat of arms now graces the Soave, the spearhead of the Poesie family. Overall, the new look should be understood as a romantic metaphor: they are not wines, but poems.
As per the off-trade market, the big news concerns the Cadis line. The bottle will display the company coat of arms embossed directly on the glass across the entire line, strengthening the image of the brand and increasing its recognition. As for the label, the new logo represents innovation and tradition, while the tagline “Cadis – Family Tradition” emphasizes the pride and importance of being part of a big extended family, one made up of 2,200 families in the area. This large collective project, handed down through generations and generations with passion and enthusiasm, is a tradition of immeasurable value and this is the most genuine characteristic of Cantina di Soave. The Soave of this line has also changed to a Rhine bottle, honouring the tradition of this important white wine.
The fair is also an excellent opportunity to taste wines that received important acknowledgments at the recent Mundus Vini International Wine Award competition. Cantina di Soave received two gold medals for their Amarone Riserva Rocca Sveva 2011 and Ripasso Rocca Sveva 2011, which was also given the prestigious title of “Best of Show”.
